When you order food through Uber Eats, you provide your delivery address so that the courier knows where to drop off your meal. But does Uber Eats also share your real-time location with the courier?

The answer is yes, but only temporarily. After you place your order and specify a drop-off location, Uber Eats will send you a notification informing you that your real-time location is being shared with the assigned courier. This location sharing is solely intended to facilitate accurate and efficient delivery by guiding the courier to your precise whereabouts for order handover.

Once the courier has picked up your food and is on their way to your delivery address, Uber Eats will stop sharing your real-time location. The courier will only be able to see your drop-off location and the estimated time of arrival.

Uber Eats takes your privacy seriously and has implemented a number of measures to protect your location data. For example, Uber Eats only shares your location with the assigned courier, and only for the duration of the delivery. Uber Eats also does not store your location data after the delivery is complete.

If you are concerned about your privacy, you can disable location sharing in the Uber Eats app. However, please note that disabling location sharing may make it more difficult for the courier to find you and deliver your food.

Here are the steps on how to disable location sharing in the Uber Eats app:

1. Open the Uber Eats app.
2. Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner.
3. Tap “Settings.”
4. Tap “Privacy.”
5. Toggle the “Share my real-time location with couriers” switch to the off position.

Please note that disabling location sharing will not prevent Uber Eats from sharing your drop-off location with the courier. The courier will still be able to see your drop-off location and the estimated time of arrival.
