Eligibility

The visa-on-arrival program is only available to travelers who arrive in Vietnam by air. Land and cruise arrivals are not eligible for this service and require a full visa application in advance.

Citizens of the following countries are eligible for visa-on-arrival at Ho Chi Minh Airport:

Procedure

To obtain a visa-on-arrival, travelers must first obtain a pre-approved letter from the Vietnam Immigration Department. This letter serves as a confirmation that the traveler’s visa application has been approved and that they are eligible to receive a visa stamp upon arrival.

Once the pre-approved letter is obtained, travelers can proceed to the visa-on-arrival counter at Ho Chi Minh Airport. They will need to present the following documents:

• Passport with at least 6 months validity
• Two passport-sized photos (if not included in the pre-approved letter)
