How to Retrieve Your DS-160 Application ID

If you have misplaced or forgotten your DS-160 application ID, it can easily be retrieved through the official U.S. Department of State website.

Steps to Recover Your DS-160 Application ID:

1. Navigate to the Retrieval Page:

   • Visit the DS-160 Confirmation page: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/
   • Scroll down to the “Retrieve Your Application ID” section.

2. Click the “Forgot Your Application ID?” Link:

   • Locate the link that says “Forgot your Application ID?” and click on it.

3. Follow the Retrieval Instructions:

   • A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to enter the following information:
     • Email Address: Enter the email address you used to create the DS-160 application.
     • Birth Date: Enter your date of birth in the MM/DD/YYYY format.
     • Passport Number: Enter the number of your valid passport.
     • Last Name: Enter your last name as it appears on your passport.

4. Submit the Information:

   • Once you have entered all the required information, click the “Submit” button.

5. Retrieve Your Application ID:

   • If the information you provided matches your DS-160 application, you will see your application ID displayed on the screen. Note it down for future reference.
