How do I unlink my iPhone from Apple Pay?
How to Unlink Your iPhone from Apple Pay
Apple Pay is a convenient and secure way to pay for goods and services using your iPhone. However, if you lose your iPhone, it’s important to unlink it from Apple Pay to prevent unauthorized use.
Unlinking an iPhone from Apple Pay Using Another iOS Device
-
Sign in to your Apple ID. On another iOS device, open the Settings app and tap on your name at the top of the screen. Enter your password or provide Touch ID/Face ID when prompted.
-
Locate the lost device. Scroll down and tap on “Find My iPhone.” If your iPhone is turned on and connected to the internet, it will appear in the list of devices.
-
Remove the device. Tap on the lost iPhone and select “Remove from Account.”
-
Confirm the removal. Enter your Apple ID password and tap “Remove.”
Unlinking an iPhone from Apple Pay Using a Web Browser

-
Locate the lost device. Under “Devices,” click on “Find My iPhone.” If your iPhone is turned on and connected to the internet, it will be displayed on the map.
-
Remove the device. Click on the lost iPhone and select “Device Actions.” Then, click on “Remove from Account.”

Additional Considerations
- Unlinking your iPhone from Apple Pay does not remove any credit or debit cards from your Apple ID. You will need to manually remove them through the Wallet app.
- If you have activated Family Sharing, you may need to unlink the lost iPhone from your family members’ Apple Pay accounts as well.
- If you find your iPhone after unlinking it, you can re-add it to Apple Pay by following the steps in the “Set Up Apple Pay” guide on Apple’s support website.
