How to Cancel a Train Ticket for a Single Passenger Online

Step 1: Retrieve Your Reservation Details

• Visit the IRCTC website (https://www.irctc.co.in/).
• Click on the “Train Ticket Cancellation” option under the “Plan My Journey” tab.
• Enter your PNR number and registered mobile number to fetch your reservation details.

Step 2: Select the Ticket for Cancellation

• A list of passengers and their tickets will be displayed.
• Tick the checkbox next to the passenger’s name whose ticket you wish to cancel.

Step 3: Confirm Cancellation

• Click on the “Cancel Ticket(s)” button.
• Review the details of the ticket(s) to be canceled.
• Enter the Captcha code for verification.

Step 4: Finalize Cancellation

• Click on the “Confirm Cancellation” button.
• You will be prompted to confirm the cancellation action.
• Click “Yes” to proceed with the cancellation.

Note:

• The cancellation fee and refund amount will be displayed before you confirm the action.
• Once the cancellation is successful, you will receive a refund to the account used for booking within 7-10 working days.
• You can cancel a train ticket up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the train.
