Can you take big suitcases on trains?
Luggage Restrictions on Trains: What Size is Allowed?
Traveling by train is a convenient and scenic way to explore, but it’s important to understand the restrictions on luggage size. Space for luggage on our trains is carefully managed to ensure a comfortable and efficient journey for all passengers. While we strive to accommodate as much luggage as possible, the size limitations are in place to maintain the capacity and safety of the onboard luggage systems.
Standard-sized suitcases are perfectly acceptable. Bags measuring up to 80cm x 57cm x 30cm can be readily stored in designated luggage racks. However, larger bags exceeding 90cm x 70cm x 30cm are unfortunately not permitted onboard.
This means that oversized luggage, including many wheeled suitcases and checked baggage exceeding these dimensions, will not be allowed on the train. Therefore, it’s crucial to carefully check the dimensions of your luggage before you travel and consider alternative methods of transportation if needed.
To avoid any inconvenience, we strongly advise pre-planning your luggage and packing accordingly. This will ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey. If you anticipate needing additional luggage space, consider utilizing alternative transportation methods like private car transport, taxis or other services that can accommodate larger luggage.
