How do I create a pinned location map?
Creating a Pinned Location Map
Step 1: Open Google Maps
Launch the Google Maps app on your smartphone or tablet. Make sure you are logged into your Google account.
Step 2: Drop a Pin
Locate the place you want to pin on the map. Tap and hold your finger on the spot until a red pin appears.
Step 3: Edit Pin Details
Google Maps automatically assigns a name to the pin. To edit the details, tap on the pin to open the information window. You can change the name, add a description, and include a photo or video.
Step 4: Share the Pin
Once you have edited the pin details, tap the “Share” button in the information window. Select how you want to share the location with others:
- Link: Copy and share the link generated by Google Maps.
- Message: Share the link via a text message or email.
- Social Media: Share the link on Facebook, Twitter, or other social media platforms.
Tips:
- To share multiple locations, drop multiple pins and create a map.
- Pinned locations are saved in your Google Maps history. You can access them later by tapping the “Your Places” tab and selecting “Saved.”
- Pinned locations are not visible to others unless you explicitly share them.
- If you want to keep a pinned location private, do not share the link with anyone.
