• Cancellation within 48 hours to 12 hours before departure: 25% fare penalty

Example:

If the fare for a train ticket is Rs. 1000, the refund amount for cancellation:

• Within 48 hours to 12 hours before departure: Rs. 750 (75% of Rs. 1000)

Note:

• The cancellation charges are calculated based on the base fare and exclude any taxes and surcharges.
• The refund will be processed to the same account from which the ticket was booked.
• No refund is granted for cancellation made less than 12 hours before departure.

To cancel a train ticket, you can:

1. Visit the official website of Indian Railways (IRCTC)
2. Login to your account
3. Select the “Cancel Ticket” option
4. Enter the ticket number and PNR number
5. Choose the cancellation reason
6. Complete the payment for cancellation charges (if any)
