Who can travel to Vietnam without a visa?

Vietnam Extends Visa-Free Travel to 13 Countries

Vietnam has implemented a new visa-free policy, effective August 15, 2023, for citizens of 13 countries. This policy allows passport holders from these countries to enter Vietnam for a period of up to 45 days without obtaining a visa.

Eligible Countries:

The following countries are now eligible for visa-free travel to Vietnam:

• South Korea
• Japan
• United Kingdom
• Russia
• Belarus
• France
• Germany
• Spain
• Italy
• Denmark
• Norway
• Finland
• Sweden

Conditions and Restrictions:

• The visa-free entry is valid for tourist and business purposes.
• The 45-day visa-free period begins from the date of entry into Vietnam.
• Extensions beyond the 45-day period are not permitted.
• Visitors must hold a valid passport with at least six months remaining validity.
• The visa-free policy does not apply to passport holders who intend to work or reside in Vietnam.
