Thus, the anniversary of war heroes and martyrs who sacrificed at Tam Co Cave, Street 20 – Quyet Thang is an annual activity organized by Phong Nha – Ke Bang to express the deep gratitude of generations of Vietnamese people before the heroic sacrifices for independence and freedom of the heroes and martyrs.

The anniversary of Heroes and Martyrs at Tam Co Cave usually takes place at the end of November every year to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed.

Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park Management Board would like to announce and invite all locals, and tourists from all over the country to attend the Anniversary Ceremony, offer incense, offer flowers and show respect to the heroic spirit heroic martyrs at Tam Co Cave at that time.

And history named the date of November 14, 1972, Tam Co Cave– Where death has turned into immortality.

Every summer, on the road – 20 Quyet Thang, in the verdant trees, in the brightness of the forest flowers, in the new features of the Heritage area, lines of tourists come together to light incense to commemorate these wonderful people.

There is a legendary story, always haunting people’s minds about bravery, heroism, and holiness – The Legend of Tam Co Cave.

Tam Co Cave is located at 20 Quyet Thang Street.

On a gloomy and cold winter day, the volunteer youth platoon consisting of four men and four women rushed into a small cave in the middle of the Truong Son Mountains to avoid bombs. The 20-day road seemed to be crushed, the mountains and forests trembled, and when the smog cleared, people were shocked to realize that the cave entrance had been filled.

Phu Dieu tells about the heroic sacrifice of the volunteer youth girls.

In many ways, the comrades tried to pave the road for others to return. And going on this way, after nine days and nights of a hopeless escape, they breathed their last in these lands.

Then somewhere from above, the comrades came back, joining the words of the mountains and rivers: Those who stay, live for us!!!

Whenever the day of the martyrs’ sacrifices is near, the banana tree in front of the cave will grow eight bunches.

Bananas have eight bunches, geckos lay eight eggs, have sound for 8 hours, and immediately disappear.

Nearly 50 years have passed since the day that eight young volunteers sacrificed in Tam Co cave (Quang Binh), Vietnam’s people always commemorate their victories and the Martyrs.

Their names have become legendary on Route 20 – Quyet Thang.
